World-class artists, designers, and musicians—many of them from right here—are creating things that would wow anyone, anywhere.

My latest blog started as a reflection while I was driving from Birmingham to Florence… and basically turned into a love letter to the version of Alabama most people never see (or expect).

Introducing: The Art of Bookbinding…my new online course that’s now LIVE! 

In this creative, beginner-friendly class, we’ll transform simple materials into a one-of-a-kind journal that reflects your (or their) personal style. You’ll learn stitching techniques, how to fold and bind your pages, and tips for choosing materials you may already have on hand.

Connor and I are starting with two days in Rome which is exciting with the announcement of the new Pope. We’ll visit the Vatican (it’s a Jubilee year, which is apparently a big spiritual pilgrimage year in the Catholic tradition?) and go on a secret food tour, which feels like the thing to do in Italy. 🍝

I couldn’t believe the stellar lineup of speakers I had the honor of being in the room with…people like Windy Chien (artist and author of The Year of Knots), The Kitchen Sisters (renowned NPR documentarians), and many many more. 

Plus, being around Alabama Chanin’s insane talent ALWAYS inspires me in meaningful ways. 

ICYMI, I spent 5 days last week in the one and only Paris, France.

While Paris has certainly been a focal city in 2024 (for rightful reasons), I went for a unique purpose that, in all honesty, was very “Lucy” (so it probably won’t surprise you!)

 I spent 5 days intentionally visiting Parisian Flea Markets and shopping for one-of-a-kind antiques to fill my home (and yours? 👀) 🤩

I’ll be honest—there’s nothing quite like the thrill of discovering a perfect vintage find. The kind that makes your heart skip a beat, your palms a little sweaty, and your brain go, “Wait, am I about to transform my entire space with this piece!?” Yes, yes you are.

A friend actually asked me the other day what my favorite things I found at the vintage shops and flea markets in Paris were, and while it was so hard to narrow it down, HERE THEY ARE! 

There's something incredibly calming and inspiring about making something by hand. The materials are simple, the process is grounding, and the result is something uniquely yours. It's the kind of creativity that fills you up instead of draining you!

Packing for a trip (especially one that involves international travel) can feel like playing a game of Tetris, don’t you think? But with the right strategy, it’s totally doable. Through plenty of trial and error (lots of stories here), I have truly mastered the art of fitting everything I need into a carry-on…even for a week in Europe! 

Confession: the number of times I’ve said something along the lines of “just throw it in the office!” over the past few months is too many to count. 

Because the world is FILLED with beautiful things, my friend. Things that are composed with quality. Designed with intention. Things that are simply begging us to opt for them versus the run-of-the-mill candlesticks you got an ad for from Wayfair. 

Giving things away is one of my favorite things to do. And no, I’m not tooting my own horn by saying that, I just genuinely love sharing things that inspire with the world! Think of it as a party favor for coming along on the journey throughout the years!

Annnnd, January is like a double-whammy fresh start for me, because my birthday is this month! 🥳
