I almost talked myself out of it…
It’s so easy to talk ourselves out of something before we even begin, isn’t it? A new idea, a business dream, a trip that feels a little too “big”.
When I first started planning a retreat abroad, I had so many reasons to hesitate. The logistics, the timing, the fact that it was literally across the ocean! Thankfully, I had Ashley beside me. She knows Paris like the back of her hand!
And you know what? It was such a great experience. So good, in fact, that we’re planning another one this spring!
I’ll be honest, I used to wait until every detail felt just right before starting a new project or making a seemingly big decision. But the older I get, the more I see that creativity (and courage) lives in our willingness to just do the dang thing, perfect or not! 😅
My point here is that while I know it's so easy to put things off (big or small) until they “make sense”, I am learning to say YES before it’s perfect, and trust that things are going to work out! If nothing else, I’ll learn something in the process 🤷🏻♀️
Instead of waiting and overanalyzing, I’m just saying YES. Yes to what’s on my heart. Yes to the ideas I can’t stop thinking about.
Some of those yeses look like another retreat in Paris this spring, my Holiday Market & House Tour at my home in December, and my newest creative workshop happening virtually on November 14. I’m choosing to believe God gave me those ideas for a reason, and my job is simply to do something with them!
So, here’s my question for you this week: What’s something on your heart right now that feels like it’s “not the right time,” but maybe it actually is?
