a walk in the creek

As I close my eyes and drift back to the days of my childhood, a vivid memory emerges — the treasured walks to the creek behind my grandparent's house. The path leading us there was a familiar friend, guiding us through the lush greenery and whispering trees.

Stepping into the cool embrace of the shallow water, I can still recall the sensation of tiny pebbles caressing my feet, grounding me in that tranquil moment. Some days, we would effortlessly hop from one big rock to another, a playful dance to evade the touch of the water.

Hours seemed to melt away as we immersed ourselves in the beauty of nature, the laughter of the creek a constant companion to our adventures. Only the call for supper could tear us away from our outdoor oasis, reluctantly coaxing us back to reality.

And there she would be, my dear Grandmother, perched on the porch with a twinkle in her eye and a well of jokes waiting to be shared. Her laughter, infectious and pure, was the cherry on top of those unforgettable days spent by the creek. Each anecdote she spun wrapped us in warmth and joy, creating memories that would forever be etched in my heart .
